Isnt easy to interpret this photo, and however...it tell us a lot of things that touch us in our heart and, above all, in our unconscious. For me is clear that this man isnt dead, although it appears from his stiffness and the way of his head falling on the leaves.
We know that he is alive by the way he clings to the foliage...and this expressiveness that almost breathe before our eyes. Neither is an statue even his marble and tone of his ashen skin. Could be, yes, a mythological man...a defeated god... Narcissus plunged into a deep sleep where he kisses his own image.
The almost gray leaves and very small yellow flowers, not only accentuate the vulnerability of the character ... also accentuated his manhood .... give the impression that Sleeper awaken from one moment to another and break to mourn happy to be alive. Even the opacity of portrait, my general impression is a celebration of nature and man by himself. Is really an expresivity and beautiful piece of art.
